I'm having a problem embedding video in the forums. The trick doesn't seem to work here??

Just paste the link without any markup and the forum will embed the video:

Edit: hmm…it used to, not anymore, apparently…
Edit2: make sure it's using http, not https. It works if you do it that way. I'm not sure why youtube is using an encrypted url.

Right, just copy the link from your browser address bar... not sure about the phone apps. Often you need to manually edit the link to get rid of the "s" after http, just like Mal said. Also, if there is ANYTHING besides "watch?v=xxxxxxx", remove it. Often, you'll see other stuff appended to the end; just remove that stuff. It's a bit of a pain, the editing, but it works every time. The addresses need to look like the following. The forum software will embed the video if it does.

What works nearly always is this.

Copy the link. Paste it to your post. Remove the "s" if there is one is one after http
Works 99% of the time

Passedpawn explained it much better. Didn't see his reply when I responded. PP, taught me how to post videos a year or so ago. Since then I've posted hundreds of videos that don't sow up as a link. They look like you're looking on YouTube.

Holy crap... that was way too simple. lol Thanks all...

I have noticed though that if there is a '-' or other special/weird character in the watch xxxxxxxx bit it doesn't always work right. Then again I haven't thought about the https part.
