day 2 on my 2nd attempt at quitting; i've gone about 6 months before being stupid and smoking again.

I'm using the patch and going to go through the whole process with these, i've used them before and they really take away my urges while i'm working and help me from becoming horribly irritable at work.

The hardest part is definitely breaking the habitual smoking and the idle hands smoking. After dinner, grab a smoke. Wake up, grab a smoke. Going for a walk, grab a smoke. Waiting for the first hop addition, grab a smoke.

Beyond the obvious health impact, i'm also asthmatic, so i'm obviously a genius for ever starting to smoke. Here's to quitting!
 
Instead of e-cig I explored Swedish Snus and became a convert.

+1 for snus. Skip the Camel and domestic crap; that isn't 'real' snus. You have to get the Swedish stuff. My preferred brand is General.

It takes some getting used to; you actually don't have to spit since it won't make you sick if you swallow. If you are interested in the background, definitely take a look into the manufacturing process. American 'chew' is actually fermented which creates a ton of carcinogens and on top of that additives are added which is why it'll make you puke if you swallow some.

Snus is usually steam-processed and pasteurized so it's carcinogen count is unusually low. And in the EU, snus is considered a food product to it's got every ingredient on the label. I'm not saying it's a safe alternative to smoking, but IMO based on research, it's the least destructive form of 'natural' nicotine delivery.

And you can use it indoors and they make 'mini' pouches which conceal easily (no more falling asleep in meetings :ban:). Perfect for me since I'm in an office all day.

They also offer a range of nicotine amounts; the 20mg+ versions will knock a smoker on their ass :D

But good decision to abandon the cigs. Save your lungs!
