hey just looking at these new electric turkey fryers they just got in at canadian tire they are 28 qt and have a ajustable thermostat has anyone in the usa or canada used these how are they?

Interesting, but nothing about power requirements, even in the manual. "May blow breaker"?

If the thermostat could be set low enough, it would make a great mash tun.

I looked into one of these a while back, and I was very reluctant to pick one up. The electric unit sits in direct contact with your wort inside the fryer, this could lead to some wicked scorching/carmelization of the portions of the wort that come into contact with the unit.

Other than that, there aren't too many drawbacks I could foresee
