Hi folks,
I'm looking to upgrade my BIAB set up. At present, I'm heating around 28L of water on my stove top over two gas rings.
As much as a propane burner seems like the easiest way forward, I live in the North of England which has crap weather for most of the year.
Therefore, I'm considering an electric BIAB set up.
If I were to buy an electric brew kettle:
1) Can these be plugged into a run of the mill wall socket?
2) How would I keep the bag from being scorched by the heating element?
3) What is the fire risk?
4) How big a kettle would I need in order to make half a brewers barrel (which I believe is 14 gallons?!)
5) Not kettle related, but where would I get a conical fermentor for home brewing that can hold half a barrel with temperature control?
Thanks,
Nick
