Elbow shank on a 2.5"d tower

Hi, I was recently gifted an old Bev Air BM23c with a 2.5" diameter tower. I would like to replace the elbow shank but I'm having trouble finding any shanks online labeled for a 2.5" tower. Would it look funny if I used a shank designed for a 3" tower?

It may fit more than just 3".
For example, chicompany.net lists this tower shank as fitting both 2.5 and 3" (and 4") towers...
