How to avoid? All my homebrews have it, but worse if overcarbed.

Clumpy may have been a better term. Seems like commercial beers head stays more "level"? I guess rdwhahb

The surface tension is too high. as the co2 disapates the head slumps in large chunks like that giving the homebrew look,
That's called a rocky head. No problem as far as I'm concerned.
