I've been thinking about this project for a while and finally had the time to get started. I wanted two separate fermentation cabinets and a storage cabinet. I took some ideas from a couple other builds (which I will link to later).

I got some scrap from a local cabinet maker for firewood and some of it was pretty good 1x2. Free is good!

I'm using the guts from a mini fridge for cooling and a paint can heater for heat. Insulating with 2" foam board and covering the inside with plastic paneling to make it easier to clean.

Here is the inside, partially complete.

I used the door seal from the mini fridge. Since the door of the fermenter is larger than the fridge's, I had to piece it together from two door seals.

You can see the metal strip on the top. I tried that first but there wasn't enough pull to get the door to seal, especially since everything wasn't perfectly straight! So I pulled the magnet strip out of the leftover pieces of door seal. I pieced these together and stuck them to the installed door seal. Then I put some gorilla glue on the magnet strip and clamped the door shut. This ensured that the magnet strip was perfectly aligned with the door seal. Work great!!

You can see the magnet strip on the right edge.

Got the drawer built! Holds two full carboys fully extended without any tipping. I'll still secure it to the cabinet below.

Looks like it should hold 3 six gal carboys or 4 five gallons!

Finally got the second cabinet about finished! It turned out nice! I put a plug in so I can run the stir plate inside the fermenter.

Dang Photbucket! Here are all the photos, since I can't seem to edit the old posts...
