I am trying to finish the lid for my HLT. I have the heatsticks built, but need some way to space them. I don't want them to touch each other or the sides of the HLT. I was thinking some kind of stainless steel wire, or...?

No ideas?

Well, now I'm thinking of a piece of PVC pipe as a spacer. Cut the PVC to fit just behind the nuts on the tail pieces. Notch the PVC to fit the tail piece on each side. Use stainless steel wire or small braided wire to hold it all together.

Short week, maybe I'll get a chance to work on it Thursday.

I would put a loop of wire around both pipes then put a screwdriver in the loop between the pipes and twist to tighten and maintain spacing between. You could use some solid copper wire and 2 or 3 spots should make it quite strong.
