Hello fellow homebrewers,

I am fairly new at homebrew and I am currenly brewing my second batch, which is a Northwest pale ale made from extract from Mr. Beer (Northwest Pale Ale), which has been fermenting since Saturday. I have a frozen pack of 50 g of Czech noble hops Saaz, which I intend to dry hop with this batch. I was thinking maybe to add 25 g (0.88 oz.) to 8.5 l (2.25 gallons) of beer this Saturday, so after 8 days of fermentation, for another 8 days. I have kind of added a little too much water to the extract: it was intended to be 7.56 litters or 2 gallons exactly, so with dry hopping I kind of hope to get more intensity in the possibly watery taste.

What do you think about hops and quantity, are they appropriate for this kind of beer?

the possibly watery taste.
I can't speak to the hops other than the amount seems fine.
If you are going to bottle, use the beer from your fermenter to boil and dissolve your priming sugar rather than the usual water. This will reduce the effect of the original error.

You might also check out the brulosophy article on hopping with Saaz. Not exactly what you're doing, but an interesting read and might give you some ideas of what to expect flavor/aroma-wise. They also used quite a bit of Saaz for the DH so that may be a good reference point as well.

An interesting suggestion.
Yeah, only to combat too much water in this case. I've done it when I've made a similar error. Never thought of the alcohol boiling off, just happy to not be adding more water.
