Dr Meter PH002, pH meter storage

I bought a Dr Meter PH002 pH Meter from Amazon in early July. There was no mention in the manual about storage but I have been doing some reading that seems to point to all pH meters needing to be stored in solution. I recall the manual stating to rinse with distilled water and let dry. Should this be stored in a solution?
