Downsizing to a 15g BIAB

So my current rig (that I have to sell) is a 2 vessel (2x15 gallon kettles) flex brewing set up.
It can do up to 7 -8 gallons as an RIMS eBIAB or up to 12 gallons as a Brutus 20 counter recirculation setup. It has a dual PID control panel that I built, there is a thread here somewhere for it......

But I cannot live in the past.....and the time has come to dry my eyes and look to the future.

I will drop the pump and use my own and upgrade to the SS BrewTech 15 gallon pot.

I have not brewed in over a year due to selling my house and waiting o the new on to be built. I am super excited to get back in the mash.

Just pulled the trigger on the High Gravity eBIAB system. Basic configuration, only change was an extra hole drilled so I can add a whirlpool. Because it has a basket, the whirlpool will have to be mounted low.

Working with Dave and Desiree at High Gravity has been awesome. They were extremely patient and answered every question quickly. Their eStore Front has a chat feature, and using it was a seamless process.

I am super excited to have it on order and can't wait until it arrives. Will be after next weekend because I am off to Estes Park for some camping!!!

Congrats and I'm curious to know how your first brew goes.

For me: Grounded or 20g HG.... going to keep pondering.

I built a stand and a PVC DIY pump and chiller station. Once I get the pump and chiller mounted, I will start building the HG system. I got the spincycle submerged, and edge pick up tube from brew hardware. Those are the only change to the OG system

So yesterday I got her all cleaned up. About an hour with oxiclean @160*, backflushed through the plate chiller.
Then about 10 min with some starsan.

Just ordered a SSBT Brew Bucket, and will clean and passivate the entire system once it gets here. Still need to figure my boil off rate, maybe next week I can get that done.

Have come across another issue. My old kettle was fat and short, new one is tall and thinner...this means my mesh hop basket does not reach the wort at a 5 gallon boil level.

I have a whirlpool and side pick up tube, could I go leaf without too much issue

I got the adjustable spider from Adventures in Homebrewing that should work for what you need, and it was fairly inexpensive.

Awesome, been considering this similar setup for my brew house. Looked like you were considering the upgrade to a SS Brewtech kettle. Curious why you didn't end up going with the Brewtech kettle.

there was no real upside to upgrade.
