I want to build a Son of Fermentation Chiller, but I want it hold two buckets or carboys. Does anyone have the dimensions for something like that? Thanks.
I'm thinking of doing this but using an old MDF cabinet and making it two tiers and having it so each compartment can be set to a different temp. No plans set in concrete yet though.
I'm also trying to think of a way to have it to heat as well as cool.
Anyone see an advantage or disadvantage of putting the ice chamber for the wort-o-matic above the carboy instead of at the bottom? Would like to limit the amount of lifting of carboys by having them at the bottom, not that it's too big of deal
I was thinking that if hot air rises, it would move up to the ice and be cooled then drop back down thus lowering the amount time the fan would kick on.
Like you said, hot air rises, but remember that cold air FALLS. Even when the fan is off and colder air is not needed. Unless you can rig up a temp controled damper the chamber temp will drop very low very fast.
