I started brewing recently, during a time in which my wife has been in hospital for an extended stay. The house is a bit lonely despite three predatory cats lurking around, so the sound of that bubbling airlock is very comforting. I'll walk into the room and that bucket will grumble and belch, and I'll start talking to it... you know, asking how it feels, did it have a good day... that kinda stuff.

Will this help my brew, or will I bore it to death? I just don't have enough experience with yeast and malt to know how they react to sad and lonely little middle-aged men trying to start a conversation.

I once heard that it helped with plants - but ours are certainly not looking good since the missus checked in and I started looking for company...

I remember hearing of a brewery that feels their yeast performs better when they play classical music 24/7 so maybe there is something to it.

Me and my beer talk all the time. I've noticed lately she has gas but
that's ok it does'nt bother me. Our relationship just keep's growing the
more she does. I must say she smells Great... :tank:

I always check in with my beer. I like to make sure it is comfortable, ask it if it needs anything. I hope the SWMBO is okay man

I can't say I talk to my fermenter but whatever floats your boat. Maybe it will talk back if you decide to start chugging a few.
