Made 6.5 gallons of this.... during the first 2-3 of fermentation, somehow the towel sunk down and made contact with the wine.....soaked the towel.

I let it keep going. Took towel off put lid on with air lock.

What are chances that nothing nasty got into it? This is my first "batch" of Apfelwine. I have a 1 gallon batch clearing now (just to drink as soon as it's done).

Don't worry about it for now, let it finish fermentation, then taste it. I let my wines age about a year, minimum, ciders 4-6 months minimum, so if it doesn't taste good right away, let it age a while in a carboy or gallon jugs and then come back to it to see what you have.
