I got a full beard, not to long though. I keep it trimmed like a nice little face sweater. Its a pain shaving everyday, I hate having to keep the neck beard at bay too.

Unfortunately for me I can grow a beard except in one dime size spot on my right cheek. Needless to say it looks ridiculous so have to keep clean shaven.

My brother has that problem, so he shaves his down to a circle beard. Have you tried that or a Hollywoodian?

I wish I could grow a beard but my current job requires me to be on the HazMat team so I have to be able to use a full face respirator at any time. I fear my beer has suffered due to the lack of beard...

Ha! Had to Google Hollywoodian. Don't think wife would dig either. Thanks for the options though.

I rock a beard half a year and a goatee the other half. Usually start in October and shave it off in February or March...

I've had some form of facial hair since I was 18...my baseball coaches didn't particularly care for them but oh well...which reminds me I gotta let my players know they need to shave next week!

I'm sporting a Hollywoodian with sideburns. I made the change from a full beard because I got tired of it. I mean, except for the 1.5 years I was in ROTC, I've worn one since 1989.

I'm trying to talk myself into converting it to a Winnfield so I can shave the gray patch off my chin. But I can't convince myself that it looks good. My mustache is a bit pornstachey.

yep, rocking a beard and have been for over 10 years, solid. I had one off and on before that for about 5 or 6 years. Beleive it or not, the beer distributor that I worked at in college required us to be clean-shaven... clean-shaven, shirts tucked in, belt, and a hat on, at all times. I'd grow the beard back any time I was home on break.

Meanwhile, however, my wife loves my beard and would probably never let me shave, even if I would ever want to.

over the last year or two, the beard's gotten a lot bigger... and my hairline's gone a little further back. I like to say that the hair is just relocating.

Used to wear a full long beard, but wife posted her "concerns" early on and have compromised with a much shorter goatee. Her reasonings in mind, truly explains the SWMBO! :D

nope. the genes in my family have not been kind to me. I'm 5'7", about 120, balding, and only facial hair that grows semi-decent in on my chin. just my chin.

My old man gave me a remmington hairtrimmer. So I got rid of 2+ years of hair, plus the side burns that could put Wolverine to shame.

Downside is I look like a deranged neo nazi.

Also I just noticed I gotta trim the side of my beard.

I have a thick beard that grows fast. I've had full beards, but SWMBO wasn't a fan. I've kept a goatee for the last few years. I'm only 37 and it's mostly gray now but I refuse to dye any hair or use rogaine. Once a few months ago I was trimming it and I pushed too hard against my chin. The guard split open and I scalped it so bad that I had to shave it off and start over. SWMBO wasn't a fan of that either. I'm thinking about slowly expanding the goatee until it covers my face. :)

I think the only reason I haven't gone pro is that I can't grow a beard!

My wife says to me tonight, "You should grow your sideburns long enough to braid."

I say, "You want me to grow a hulihee?" and show her a picture.

She says, "you spend too much time researching beard styles."

I say, "No, I don't."

I'll get a pic of my Winnfield posted when the length is better.

Is that an issue? How else are you supposed to know what a Van Dyke is?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_Dyke_beard

I can't post wiki links to all of them.

I've had a beard quite a few times. It grows in fast so if I decide I want one, I stop shaving for about 10 days and I have a decent one. I don't like big bushy beards, I keep them trimmed with a number 2 on the electric razor.

I hate the in-between phase, though, where it's too short to be a beard but just long enough to be itchy. My dilemma is that, in the winter time, my skin gets so dry that if I have a beard, I get bad beard dandruff, also known as bearddruff. So I shave frequently and use lotion afterward, no problem. In the summer, it's too damn hot. So no beard. At this point in my life, if I have a beard, it's purely out of laziness.

I'm gonna hold the lot of you down & shave all your fancy face hair. then, I shall glue all your hair to my face to create "Ultra Mega Beard". thus making me the greatest brewer in the history of forever. and the strains of yeast to be discovered in my new facial follicles shall dominate the earth and all brewing as we know it.

I have enough Indian blood in me that what facial hair I can grow looks like I have sarcoptic mange because it is so patchy.

I think it's funny when teenagers try to grow beards unsuccessfully. My wife teaches at a high school so I see this a lot. A patch here, a patch there, barren land in between. Nothing chicks dig more than a few random patches of thin facial hair.

My brother is still in that phase and he's 44. The best he can grow is a thin circle beard. Beyond that, it's too patchy.

I told him when they perfect the beard transplant, I'll donate half of mine because mine is thick enough for two

When I was younger I grew a beard every winter. Now my wife thinks I look like Gabby Hayes when I grow one.

I have a goatee. Wife wouldn't have it any other way. She has threatened that if I shave it she will get an extremely short haircut when she knows I love her long hair.

well, for the first time in about 10-12 years I don't have a beard. I'm out on a drilling rig for a few days and had to shave. Luckily I was afraid this would happen so I brought my shears with me. In less than a minute I went from natural to beardless.

Add me to the bearded list. I shaved about 2 months ago, and my kids hated the clean shaved thing, so it's back. The wife thinks it makes me look older, but I'm 40, so I don't really care at this point...

I'm done at the rig-shaved that poor face one time and now it's time to start growing it again. When I got home today the wife wasn't happy about it but at least she didn't freak out like last time.
