That will work just fine. I used an stc 1000 and hardwired it into my freezer for a much cleaner look.

There is a thread dedicated to the ITC-308 here: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=536763

After some issues with the original units (which were fixed rather quickly), people have been having good luck with these. If you want to DIY, use an STC-1000 or ITC-1000. If you want plug-n-play, then go with the ITC-308. If you want higher capability (automatic profiles), look into the STC-1000+ (https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=464348), which can be full DIY or plug-n-play.

Brew on :mug:

The one he listed IS preassembled and that's the difference. For a DIYer the $40 is probably not worth the extra expense but for someone who is not comfortable making a project box and wiring the electrical it makes perfect sense ( ;

Heck I'm a DIYer and at $40 bucks I wouldn't think twice about it (after having already built one myself that is)

My diy stc was easily close to $40 when all was said and done. Was a much better option for the money than what was on the market at the time. I made 2 and now I need another and plan on getting that prebuilt inkbird next.

Thanks for the help folks. I did find that thread on the 308 a few hours after I posted - maybe I'll search a bit more before jumping in next time!
