I'm new to brewing but I'm an engineer and love the DIY aspect. I did my first AG brew the other day and decided I wanted a mill but didn't want to shell out the cash. I threw together these plans and made the parts in the machine shop. Since I'm still in school the materials are free for me so I spent a grand total of $0. I chose aluminum because it was in stock, upgrade to steel rollers in the future. I made the gaps fixed for simplicity. Here are the specs:
- 2" x 6" rollers
- Top gap 0.070"
- Bottom gap 0.035"
Standard knurl pattern was added but not pictured. Took a few hours to build in the shop with a friend. The design was based off the Monster Mill MM3-2.0, not sure how the performance stacks up but it sure beat its price. I will post the CAD drawings with dimensions for those who are interested in the near future. Feedback greatly appreciated
