I always sanitize my bottles in my dishwasher. It is a 2008 model KitchenAid with a Sani-Rinse feature which supposedly guarantees the sanitation by raising the temp of the final rinse water for some amount of time. I taped a thermocouple to a bottle on the front row (worst case?) and connected it to a logging thermometer.

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I know this discussion has occurred numerous times on here, so all I offer is an actual graph. Click on pic for bigger pic.

Temperatures hotter than 165°F kill most bacteria within a few seconds. I doubt theres any concern with hovering around 155 for close to an hour.

I've never had any problems using the sani-rinse and bottling.
