Digiboil mash tun?

I have a 35l digiboil. I’m wondering if I could just buy a false bottom for it and use it as an electric mash tun. I currently use a 2 cooler system to mash. I know that have a “upgrade kit” to make it a mash and boil but I don’t really see the need for a malt pipe. It seems like it would just take up space and lower the amount of grain I could potentially fit. Thank you in advance

Keeping the mash temp will be a big challenge. I would use it with a mash king tun or an igloo cooler.

i was thinking on this too. 1600w should be able to maintain a mash temp and even do step mash, esp if you heat strike water in a kettle and transfer it in. other thoughts ?
