Difference in Wyeast?

Hi folks,

I recently came across a recipe for a tripel and it calls for Wyeast Belgian Abbey 1218. The closest I can find online is Wyeast Belgian Abbey 1214.

Is there a significant difference between these two? is 1218 a typo in the recipe?

I think it was a typo. However, Wyeast comes out with seasonal yeasts so it may have been a seasonal offering. I would go with the 1214.

Have you gone to the wyeast website to see if there are two different Belgina Abbey Ales listed?

No I haven't. I just looked on austinhomebrew.com and a few other sites. I will now though.
