Hey guys,

After trying just about everything, I have a pretty simple question. Is it possible to get a defective keg?

I have an Igloo kegerator and we've enjoyed 5 or 6 great half kegs so far. Nice and cold, no pouring issues, nothing (after initial setup obviously).

Right now we can't get any beer out of this keg. We had one good night of beer and then it pretty much stopped pouring. I've tried everything I can think of and finally i untapped the keg. There's plenty of beer, CO2 seems to be flowing fine and when we open the spout it sputters quite a bit and it sounds like just CO2 is coming out.

Something with the top of the keg just doesn't look right. The top looks off center. I've attached two pictures. Please let me know what you guys think.

Thanks in advance.

Yep, the "check" ball is off center.
You should be able to center it, by placing a towel over it, ( so you won't take a bath!), and pushing down on it and moving it back to center, preferably with your thumb.

Check the bottom of your coupler as well, to insure nothing is amiss.

You got no beer out of the keg?

Best I remember, that thing should be flowing some beer, with the ball off center, as that is the way I wedge them when depressurizing a keg.

And yes, I guess it's possible to get a defective one, 'specially if it was like that when you removed the protective cap............But I think there would have been evidence of leakage.
