6 lbs Light LME
2 lb. 2-row Brewers Malt
1.25 lb. Cara-Munich I
0.81 lb. Light Munich
1.0 oz Sterling hops (Bittering) 60mins
0.5 oz Sterling hops (Flavoring) 15 mins
1 tsp. Irish moss 2/3 to 3/4 cup corn sugar to prime Wyeast 1764 Rogue Pacman Yeast

above are my ingredients for a dead guy clone. thinking this might be a bit hoppy for me. wondering what happens if i go with either a different type of hops or rather than my bittering going in at 60min move that up to 30mins?

don't usually mess around with changes to receipes because i don't yet understand the consequence(s) of changing hops and the effect, other than taste, on the beer.

Hi edie!
I have a Dead Guy clone in primary right now. My recipe is a little different (based on a kit from Rogue my LHBS had and what was on hand--didn't use the "kit"; pieced together ingredients).
Here's what I did:
6# Pilsen DME
1# Munich
.5# crystal 45
1# corn sugar
2oz. Perle hops (60)
1oz. Saaz hops (0)
Rogue "Pacman" with starter.
The OG was 1.070

I didn't like the "proprietary" hops that came in the "kit", so I went with the hop schedule from BYO 250 Classic Clone Recipes.
My sister requested this beer, but doesn't like "too hoppy".
Good luck!!!
Sarah.

thanks - curious to hear how yours turns out.

I did an all grain dead guy clone, I haven't exactly tried it yet though, it's carbonating. I don't remember the recipe exactly , but I think I used 10lb Pale malt, 3 lbs munich and 1.3 lbs of carastan. I didn't find carastan so I subbed caramunich

+1 on Yoopers DGA recipe. I made the all grain version earlier this year - it was fantastic.
