8 days late and short on the word count.... but here you go

1. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
The color was a light shade of amber, which enticed me because I don’t typically prefer dark beer (although, this notion is subject to change as I continue my journey). I liked this beer, it was easy to drink. It was crisp and refreshing, offering notes of citrus at the end of each sip. I’d drink it again.
2. IPA from any widely distributed CA brewery
I chose Stone Brewing’s Delicious IPA. I had anticipated it was going to be an unpalatable experience because the previous IPA’s I’ve indulged in have been grossly bitter. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was not case with this brew. Although, it did have a slightly bitter bite to it, I didn’t feel as though I was sipping poison. I’d have to say this was my first somewhat positive experience with an IPA.
3. Left Hand Milk Stout
In the past eight weeks, I have tried quite a few milk stouts, and have yet to be disappointed. This one is no different. It is neither too sweet, nor too bitter. This milk stout offers a creamy texture, and flavors of coffee and malt. Although, I think it would be better enjoyed in the winter season, because it is a heavier brew.
4. Duvel
This is a Belgian Golden Ale and I love everything about this beer. The label is fun, it explicitly states that this classic brew should be poured slowly, and you can be proactive in using this time to write a poem. The flavor is spectacularly light and refreshing, although there is notable hoppy bitterness. The fact that this brew boasts an ABV of 8.5% is frightening, considering just how drinkable it is.
5. Rochefort 10 (pronounced rock-fort 10 – I made the mistake of pronouncing it roach -fort 10 and legitimately confused an employee helping me at BevMo.)
I didn’t fancy this brew. I am slightly saddened by this discovery due to the fact that this particular beer has a stellar reputation. For me personally, the ale was too strong and too bitter. Perhaps, I am not yet seasoned enough to appreciate this craft beer. But for now, I would pass on drinking this again.
