More Brewing Company DDH Double Dusty (Double Dry Hopped Double IPA)

What. The ****. Man.

Drank this last night, but felt the need to share with TalkBeer. This beer wasn't terrible, but it was muddled, had no brightness, and the grapefruit, citrusy "juicyness" / tropical fruit / resiny aroma was drowned out by hop vegetal matter and yeast in suspension. If done well (Trillium, Tree House, Alchemist) this style can be phenomenal, but **** like this makes me shake my head.

2014 Dark Horse Bourbon Barrel Plead the Fifth

Chocolate. Bourbon. Oxidation. Oatmeal.

A pretty nice, if slightly oxidized bottle of BA Plead the 5th from 2014. Looking forward to mowing a bunch of this beer down over the coming months as I thankfully didn't buy any the last two years.

Bells Whiskey Barrel Aged Cherry Stout

Cocoa. Cherry. Oak. Tannin.

Admittedly this is not on a fresh palate, but I'm pleasantly surprised by this one I grabbed from the General Store a few weeks back. Saw it was released locally as well so hopefully other folks get a chance to try it.

Here's hoping tomorrow is as good as today.
