i went to water my hops at a friends farm and noticed a gopher ate the biggest shoot on his rhizome...
12" of climbing goodness was gone...He was no a happy camper...

I too have always had gopher problems, and I have been at this address for 38 years. EVERYTHING I plant has to have a chicken-wire basket set into the hole, before the tree/vine/shrub veggie goes in. The DW, on the other hand, just sticks her flowers in the ground bare. The garden depts. at Lowes, HD & Target cheer whenever she shows up, since they know she is good for at least $30 worth of "gopher chow".

I HAVE to get one of these ! What an opportunity! I'd open a gopher killer business ( Yep, I'd call it that and dare the PETA to call me out on it ) and have a fricking BLAST going to work each day (pardon the pun).

EDIT: Sorry, this was supposed to be for the Rodenator. I have an Oxy/Acetylene setup, and I think I can duplicate this. Now if I can just get that redneck neighbor kid to take my striker over to that little hole.... Two birds, one stone

Man! I have got to get one of those bad-boys too! Anyone here check on the price? The DW sashayed in about an hour ago, with another arm-load of "chow" ( snap-dragons and Gerbera daisies ) from Target, but when I showed her the video, she just snorted, and said "you'll shoot your eye out".

Umm, if you've had gophers, 1200 for just a little revenge, peace & sanity seems like a small price. I bet the little bastards get about $50 a year in my bulbs.

Hell, I'd be getting up early in the morning to start the day off right!

We used seal bombs (M-80) a couple times...One person lights it and drops it in the hole...
The other person put a shovel over the hole and the first person stood on he shovel...Dangerous fun !
