I've been brewing for a few years now in carboys and my trusty Spiedel fermenters. I've been been thinking about getting an SS brewtech chronical with the temperature control system. I've also been following the fermentation control temperature experiments on Brulosophy. Like many others, I've been kind of amazed: for most of the experiments, temperature control doesn't really have an adverse effect on the beer.

Up until now, I've been using a cool brewing fermentation bag, and I religiously try to hit my fermentation temps manually. ...but now, I dunno. Is it all a waste of time? Can I save money by skipping the fermentation control on the conical?

How many of you folks have thrown caution to the wind and don't worry about fermentation temps?

Caution to the wind?...hardly.....but I don't stress out over it...Most yeast I use have a pretty forgiving window within a window to work with.
