Searched everywhere can’t find the answer if there is one.

I built a simple counter pressure bottle filler. Filling wand, stopper, tube connected to a growler filler fitting that fits up into the tap. I am sure everyone has seen hundreds of these.

I can build one from a picnic tap, which I may do I may do. But I want to use my normal tap off the keg. It looks like a standard tap (non Perlick). The growler connection fits very nicely and snug in it. I want to keep it at 10 or so PSI to do this.

But here is the problem. There is back pressure to the tap that leaks beer out of the air relief hole on the tap. Is this normal? What do you do about it?

Just as a FYI I did fill a few bottles at about 3 PSI just to do a quick fix. Again I do not want to fill at 3 PSI. I also had problem tap leak at 3 PSI with this. If my only choice to set up the picnic tap style I will to do it.

The air relief hole is located on the upper portion of the tap head. Not of the spout. I am assuming this is normal.

Thanks for any advice. If there is a thread on it please point me to it. I could not find anything.
