I recently moved from a house where I had the luxury of natural gas on my patio for brewing and am curious what it would cost to install a gas line in my new brewing space. I have a detached garage that is right next to my gas meter (maybe 8-10ft apart). Does anybody know what it might cost to have a gas line installed for brewing? Yesterday I gave my KAB4 a test run and appear to have a leak in my regulator and issues with the tank safety mechanism. Hopefully I can address this soon, but it made me realize how awesome natural gas is and I want to go back, if possible. Anyone with experience know what it might cost? Thought I would get a guesstimate since I don't have a recommendation for an install company yet.

It really shouldn't be that hard to do based on how close it is. Something like this flexible gas line T'd off from meter with a few shutoffs would work well I think. I can't imagine this taking more than 2 hours of someone's time either. Id say you could get it done for $250 or less counting labor and materials. If you're handy, this is easily something you could do yourself depending on how the gas line in your house is setup.

I used the same line to extend natural gas out to my deck for my grill.

Thank you for the quick response! I would prefer a professional set this up. Good to know it might be a reasonable option. If it was $250-300 I think it would be worth not dealing with propane. Electric could also be a possibility, but I would assume it would be more costly to get setup (install and equipment costs).

I have propane at my house and I recently got a quote to have a line installed on my deck from a line to the house that is about 15 feet away. I think that quote was between $400 and $500, parts and labor. But I am sure it depends on the exact setup. I could see it being cheaper than $400 too.
