I wanted a fast way to read the preboil gravity of my wort.
I have a refractometer, I use it, I get one reading, use it again, I get a slightly different reading. I dont really like it.
I like my hydrometer, but needed a way to drop the temperature of the wort (150 - 155 degrees) down to 70 degrees. And it needed to be fast.
So I thought what better way to do that, than a copper graduated cylinder. Place the cylinder in an ice bath.
It worked perfectly. The temperature of the wort dropped to 70 degrees in 60 seconds.
