Hi all,

I'm looking into switching to electric brewing since I will not have access to a workable stove for a while. What should I be considering for converting my 10 gallon kettle to an electric system? What equipment will I need to buy? What kind of price tag will I be looking at?

Most of the cost is in the 240v, 30amp circuit if you have to hire that out. A GFCI breaker can run 100 bucks. Element install is around 100 and a power controller can be from 50 DIY Kit to 150 Blichmann Power Controller.

You can forgo the power control if you use a 3500 watt element as that is a nice rolling boil. The absolute cheapest way is to put a pair of 120v, 1650watt elements in and just run them on separate circuits.
