Sorry for the total newb question. I notice the connection on the false bottoms are 3/8" while the connection to the inner part of the manifold is 1/2". Will this work when connecting a tube between the two or does one piece need to be modified to either 3/8 or 1/2? and which is better or more efficient when pulling wort, the larger or smaller tubing. Didnt know if it mattered or if there is a more ideal size. Thanks for looking.

Same size. Just as long as the hose is attached were it won't come off during the mash process. That would be bad. :(

I'm sorry I'm not entirely sure what your asking. Your going to use a false bottom AND and a PVC manifold? Maybe upload a picture so we can help you.

Sorry if its a little unclear. Im Talking about the 3/8" connection at the top of the false bottom where you would connect the hose then run the other end to the 1/2" connection on the inlet of the spiggot. Do they both need to be the same size as I assume it would give a better fit for the hose or will it work as is.

Ok I gotcha now, I would say no, your going to be using your valve to restrict the flow generally speaking anyway. Mine has a bushing or reducer of some sort on it too.
