hi all I'm starting to look into brewing my own mead, my first question of the many to follow in the coming years.. where's the best place to get brewing equipment? ive found many online company's selling "kits" that aren't whole kits since they then suggest items that are needed.
secondly where's a good place to buy raw honey? thanks all :mug:

IF you at all can, go visit your local home brewing store. They may not have the best mead makers there, but they know their equipment and will hock you up with the correct stuff, with out over buying. I also have found my LHBS to be just as cheap as the on-line places, but i am lucky and have a Norther Brewer in town.
As for honey, buy it at a local farmers market. Most likely you will find that the people selling honey are also making mead from it and be very helpfull.

ok awesome I actually didn't even know there was a local brewing store near me until I googled the area thanks for the advice

If nothing else it is good to have a place to quickly run to when you oh say, run out of corks or caps mid bottling. Or need an emergency yeast. Hey, sometimes ya just gotta brew!

lol. If you aren't in a rush, I used craig's list. You can hit some good deals on there, but it may require some patience. They usually have decent brewing kits available at your LHBS. As for honey, local markets. I avoid the marked up large commercial retail store sellers of raw honey. Almost always cheaper to go directly to them via smaller markets, like a farmers market.
