I have a cascade that's about ten feet and is a first year plant. It only has produced one tall bine with cones forming. This common for a cascade

I'm a first year grower as well and my Willamette rhizome only produced one bine and is about 6ft tall and growing fast. Not sure about cascades but it seems to be doing just fine :)

Yea it's pretty healthy and beginning to produce cones now just thought it was interesting. I guess it's gonna need to grow really tall to produce a good yeald. It's 12 foot now and still growing.

My Casacde did the same thing it's first year. It's a little skimpy this year too (year 2). The Magnums I started at the same time yielded 5 times as much last year and are going gang busters this year. I think the Cascades are just a more shy breed.

I haven't had any spurs show up yet but I have some side arms that are over a foot long on the bottom few nodes. The main bine is growing at least 2in a day.

I'm in southern Indiana and the weather here the last few weeks has been perfect for crops and hops.
