So, right after filling my CO2 tank my kegerator went a little wonky and dropped the temp to <30°. I had 2 kegs of beer in there and they were partially frozen, and i couldn't get any pressure (that was when i noticed the problem). At any rate my CO2 gauges all read 0.
I pulled it outta the fridge, and after a few hours it came back up, but the tank pressure gauge only came halfway up the red.

so, would the below freezing temp have mess caused the tank to vent out? or is my gauge messed up? Or something entirely different?

The cold shouldn't have caused any loss in gas, but you will typically see your gauge go down when cold compared to room temp. The gauge could have been sticking to begin with, but the fact it went up after warming up is a good indicator it's probably working and the tank is holding gas just fine.

Don't sweat it - It's my opinion that the high pressure gauge on all CO2 regulators should be capped off and thrown away ;)

The freezing point of CO2 is far lower than 30 degrees anyway - But your beer, however, won't absorb CO2 below freezing, and it will actually off-gas any it has at that temp.

All you have to do is re-carb.
