Cold Break Question

Question for my brew nerd friends. I use a plate chiller to cool the wort. Once chilled, it goes directly to my fermenter. Does anyone transfer from their chiller to a settling tank per say for whirl pooling to separate the cold break and any remaining hop particles prior to racking to primary?
If so, what are your results and have you ever had any contamination issues?

I don't have a plate chiller, but I just chill with an immersion chiller then whirlpool with my brew spoon as fast as I can. Then I let stuff settle out for about 20 or 30 minutes and rack to the fermenter from the outer edge of the kettle. I don't worry too much about a little break material and hops getting into the ferementer. It'll just settle out in there.

You could just whirlpool it then draw from the edge into your plate chiller. But if you sanitize everything properly you shouldn't have to worry about contamination no matter which way you go with it.

I don't use a plate chiller myself, but I wouldn't be too worried about the break material, it will settle out in primary and shouldn't have any effect on your beer.
