Hello,

I recently won a little homebrew competition prize for my creativity, so I'm jumping back in feet first.

I'm kind of thinking about attempting a Cosmopolitan cocktail inspired homebrew, which would include orange, lime, and cranberry flavors. I want it to be light and refreshing, but I'm a little concerned about one or more fruits being too much/too little.

My malt bill would be light and simple, I'm thinking I might try getting my orange "tripel sec" flavors from Amarillo hops and bitter orange peel, and adding lime at burnout. The frozen cranberries would be added during secondary.

Any thoughts on this? Experience brewing with more than one fruit flavor?

Thanks! :tank:

Our homebrew club is running our second iteration of an "iron brewer" competition, in which you're required to use a random hop, random malt, and random specialty ingredient. The last round required Mandarina Bavaria, Rice, and Juniper.

I wound up doing a take on a gin and tonic by making a kettle sour, then spicing in the growler for the meeting with lime juice and juniper berries...I enjoyed it but didn't particularly want 5 gallons of the stuff. A lot of guys in the club had similar ideas with orange and grapefruit zests...the winner actually called his "Gin and Juice"

Definitely think you're starting from a good point conceptually but it may be worth pulling a sample of the beer without cranberries before adding them to see if you want to introduce the flavor.
