Massachusetts CO2 tanks and corney kegs

I'm not selling them, but there is a post on Craigslist for corney kegs and 20# CO2 tanks for $25/ea in Ware MA.

I just went and picked up 2 tanks myself, They have quite a few more.

Just wanted to pass it along for those in the Western MA/Northern CT area.

Wow, that's a deal! Especially on the Al ones.

Just swap em out. Some exchange places won't even charge you for the hydro test, as long as they look fair.

I can't do swaps, just fills, at my local gas place. are they in good enough shape to make it worth it for me? They seem a bit beat up, but I'm hoping to start kegging cheap.

I'm not sure.. They are out of date on inspection, and they were pretty beaten up. There is a place in Framingham that does swaps for ~$27 for a full 20lbs.. The tank you swap it for will be inspected and could be refilled. A lot of the grow stores swap tanks, and in MA, they seem to be popping up all over the place. I thin the place in Framingham is NE Hydro.

Good deal for CO2....but why does the thread title say Corny Kegs? Clicked through to the CL ad and see no mention of Cornys? Do you know that the seller also has them as well?

FYI...was just going back and forth with the CL guy...he has some pin-locks and ball-locks left...$25...my goodness...it's an hour out for me which is not going to work....Guy is in Ware, MA...

His original CL posting from 2 weeks ago showed what appeared to be a couple hundred corny's and a bunch of 20# CO2 tanks - all for $25ea. I think the kegs went pretty quick and like an earlier poster said, he still has a few left but has mostly CO2 tanks left.

Maine Oxy in Milford does swaps. If you bring in a tank that's not theirs that's out of cert you just need to pay the cert fee ($30?) and they give you one of their tanks with a sticker on it... from then on, never pay a cert fee. They have limited Saturday hours which can be a pain but they've been my go-to for a few years.

Ok, thanks. I'll prob just keep an eye out or buy once from my gas guy. If I'm not doing swaps I'd rather have one that's in decent shape.
