CO2 tank... how many ounces?

Trying to get it filled for the first time. There is a sports place by my house that will fill it but its 3.50 per 20 ounces and they said i had to know how many ounces it holds?

Anyone know? Tried googling it but didnt see anything.

There is a beverage place that does it but its about 40 miles away so trying to save the drive if at all possible.

Its a 5lb tank. Called the beverage place and they want 15 if i drop off over night or 20 to be done in person.

Dont mind paying a little extra at Sports place just dont want to pay a arm and a leg.

well lets see if they mean ounces by weight i would say 5 * 16 = 80 oz.

so if thats the case it will cost you $14 at the Sports place. considering the beverage place wants $15 i would say this is likely.

16oz in a pound of co2 so 80 oz in a 5lb tank check this site out its where I verified this information. hope this helps

Well i guess i got a heck of deal on getting it filled. I took it Sports Authority and the kid fiddled with it for 20 mins and said he couldnt get anymore in it from the tank they have so have them ring me up for 40 oz (half full). Went to pay and the cashier girls was on the phone and never said anything to me and charged me for a refill which was 4 dollars. I am assuming thats the price for the 20oz paintballer refill. I didnt say anything cause i didnt know how much the kid got in it or if it was even half full.

Got home and weighed it and its 12 pounds so he filled it 80%. Guess not bad for 4 bucks...

I get mine filled at a welding supply Co. They tell when it is filled by weight.$9

Just refilled it again and she rang me up and this time is 3.74. The guy who filled it told her to ring up a large. Im guessing they are charging me for paintball sizes?

Again weighed it and it was 12 pounds. Not completely full but for the price i can't complain.

Well empty the tank weighs 7.9 pounds. After filling it was 12 pounds so that is 4.1 pounds of CO2 is it not?
