Howdy!

I’m in a little place called Gardendale, TX.
Is there a place for refilling Co2 tanks around here. Wouldn’t even mind a short drive. Thanks for any help or info.

yes i had that issue for a while. although expensive, sodastream canisters can be used for kegging. i did it for 2 years before i foudn a supplier. they are more money but much more available. lowes homedepot target etc, and even mail order exchange

you just need the adaptor and miniregulator,

Most places will now swap tanks (full for empty) rather than refilling them at their location.

I'd definitely do a search for welding suppliers in your area, and... call a few of them to find the best (swap/refill) price considering all "particulars" involved,* if any. There can be quite a variation among them.

* Most tank swap places will take any tank, but some may charge extra when your tank is out-of-date. Others don't care, (testing is part of the swap price).

Also make sure to get aluminum for aluminum. Some try to pawn off swap an old heavy, rusty steel one for your shiny aluminum tank.

If you have a business near you that services fire extinguishers / equipment, they will probably fill (and hydro) your tank..... At least my local shop does (central IL). Turn around is a day or two depending on work load.

Swapping is where it is at. No need to worry about hydro, and sometimes you get an ugly tank. I suggest getting a koozie if that is a problem.
Yup. Just now found a place in n Odessa, TX. Linde Welding Gas & Equipment Center. It’s half the price of Airgas to swap at Linde. Plus, at Airgas, you have to wait a few days for them to send your tank off somewhere to get filled. You don’t even need to get an account at Linde. I probably sound like a ad for them but I’d like to get the word out to others in the Midland/Odessa area who may not know about them.
