I have a stainless carbonator cap and some amber PET bottles. I could fill the PET bottle with bulk hops, attach the cap and purge the CO2. Downside is I'd have to swap out the cap for a regular bottle cap, potentially letting in some oxygen.

(fast forward to 2 minutes, 6 seconds):

OR, I could store the bulk hops in a ball jar and use the FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer and Cap as seen here:

If I stored both in the freezer, which would be the most effective method?

Note: I know I can use vacuum sealed bags that will remove almost all oxygen; and from what I have read that is the most preferred method.

For pellet hops, the mason jar vacuum sealer has been what I've used for the last 7-8 years and it is a great method!

I've used PET bottles for years. Drill the cap, insert tire stem, fill and purge a couple of times with CO2 and toss into the freezer. It will literally keep hops fresh indefinitely. Or long enough, anyway.
