So, I got my kit from Kegconnections the other day. For some reason, there wasn't a washer included for the regulator to co2 tank connection. I wasn't thinking of it, and tried it without the washer. co2 was blowing like crazy through the connection. So, I picked one up from my homebrew shop, but it still flows out of the connection quite strong. Maybe I'm just being stupid, but how on earth do I connect the regulator to my co2 tank? It's not like I've never done that before? do i need two washers?

The one I use at work has a threaded "female" connection that I simply twist on to the gas tanks threaded "male" connector, then use a spanner to tighten it up until it doesnt (audibly) leak gas anymore.

European though? Maybe yours is different. Take a picture of it if you can, someone will know whats up.

Well, I'm a bit of an idiot. I found the original washer that kegconnection sent me. So, it works a lot better than the one I bought at my homebrew shop. oh well, it was only a quarter. I still get a little bit of a leak, but some tightening should solve that issue. I am a bit curious why a washer I bought would be so much worse than what came with it.

different material for the washer?

despite what some people tell me, I always wrap the threads of the CO2 cylinder with teflon tape (the type for gas is better than liquid too if you can find it there) and I never have leaks at the regulator connection (my leaks always come at the QD or poppet...used kegs, go figure)

I think many of the systems sold at kegconnection come with the newer style washer that is more of a permanent type washer not needing replacement with every tank fill. If you contact kegconnection with any questions you have you should find them very quick to respond with helpful information.
