Thanks everyone. Is old IPA grounds for affecting feedback? I did specify to check dates, and asked for ~mid-January or newer as a month old seemed fair for a trade that focuses on sours.
MrVonzipper mhenson42 because you trade a lot.

If they agreed to send fresh IPA in a trade and sent old IPAs instead, then it's grounds for at least noting it on the feedback. If I'm trading for IPAs I generally ask the date before hand, unless its from a regular trader who I know knows better.

I didn't read this thread, but if you got old Jai Alai, that's not acceptable. Lol first, it's horrible when it's old and second, just about every store I bought Jai Alai at on my lat trip to Florida had cans that were from 1-5 days old.

Go away.

Oh it's going away alright.

More for me.
Absolutely!
Well, not this one though. This one belongs to my drain

Thanks everyone. The guy has a bunch of trades listed on BA and said he's interested in keeping a trade line open. No more IPAs from him....
My box to him has been near Dallas for four days, so either FedEx lost it or they're delaying for the Eastern storm. If I have to resend, I'ma be furious. Assuming it goes through, then I can ask him about it. He did say he'd get me fresh stuff.

I wouldn't make a big deal about it publicly but I would say something in a pm and if they are a good trader, they should recognize they messed up and fix it with another box of fresh stuff.

If you need a reliable source for Florida ipa's you could always hit me up, btw.;)
Yeah, if all this Jai Alai is ass I'll take you up on that after I travel to CA in a month. Gotta save up lol.

What! JA is $3 a can??
HT is also $3 a can, but 33% more beer and >9000% better taste!

DelToro I gave it to a friend to try before the drainpour but he didn't really like it either (ofc, this was relative to Focal and Heady ;))

I added shipping to with that $3 price (isn't that how world class traders measure trades. right? ;))

Your friend only hated on it cause you did. He wanted to be cool like you and yes I'm jealous we don't have any world class ipas down here.

I doubt that, he is fairly new to craft beer and may not even be too focused on IPAs. Anyways, you'll get some actual pale ales to stuff your face hole soon...pepper dat angus

Popping in again. If I'm annoying y'all I can make a different thread in the SA forum....

Generally, when do the Floridaweisse type beers (and other fruited and sour or semi-sour beers) become available?

Today is the LAST DAY for El Catador Club bottle pickup. The tasting room is open until 11pm tonight. If you need to change your trustee to arrange pickup, please email your name and the new trustee's name to [email protected] before 4:30pm to ensure the change is made.

El Cat is ending....the apocalypse is upon us, and frankly I don't want to live in a world without it, even for just a couple of months.

johnyb could you please confirm if what is being said in this thread is true? Is DB Huna really on sale today at an 8 bottle limit? If so, why wasn't more than 1 extra bottle made available to Catador members? Seriously disappointed in this club's offerings insofar as beers go, and this definitely isn't inspiring me to renew my membership. It seems like there were more limited releases available only at the brewery for whoever instead of to members.

I believe it's actually a case limit until it sells out. There's people posting pics of full cases and the bottle list all over facebook. I'd be kinda annoyed if I was a Catador member too.

Would have been more respectable if it was 1 bottle limit to Catador members if you wanted to get in line. 1 case limits to anyone? What a slap in the face. Maybe this is some sick joke for CCB to watch people walk around the festival from tent to tent, with 1 case of DB Huna, trying to get beer samples, and fight off others trying to get into your case? Because you're not going to leave the festival to put the case in your car and wait in line for hours to get back in.

El Catador is basically a "loyalty" program and one of my pet peeves is when the loyalty is one-sided. I can honestly say that if they don't offer more DB Hunah to EC members (and I'm sure they won't), then I won't be renewing. I have no doubt that my membership would be snapped up by someone else, but it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The Bruery wouldn't sell a couple bottles of Winefication to Hoarders society, then offer it by the case to the general public.

CCB has the worst release methods ever. It's always something ****** up like a 11am release on a work day, no limit, no announcement so all the unemployed ***** scoop up all the bottles and notify all their buddies to scoop up what is left before anyone can even get off work. Loyalty my ass. At least I have plenty of Don Gavino. CCB is really making a lot of friends today.

The only thing I can possibly think of to explain this is that all the DB Huna being sold was somehow not picked up before the shutoff period and they decided to sell if. Even if that is the case, it's still a pretty low thing to do as they could have offered it back up to people in the club again since, according to that email we all got last week, they want it to be a "positive experience for members and one that people are excited to be a part of."

Nope.

Did the CCB Catador Membership state that bottles available to members would only be for members?

Seems they should have tipped the members off to the extra bottles, even if you had to attend today to get them. But at least have the bottle limit on the DB Huna less than the regular Huna regardless of who you are selling it to, hard to make sense of that.

That is dumb as **** to sell DB Huna at a case limit. Instead of spreading the wealth it just allows a couple people to 'take care of their trade partners' and leaves everyone else to include loyal locals pissed off.

- Depending on the yield from each batch, there is potential for purchasing additional bottles for each member. This will only be determined when that beer is ready to be released to the club.
- You will have advance notice of other beer releases and the chance to purchase these bottles before non-club members.

So no, they don't state that the bottles are for members only, however, those statements would lead a reasonable person to believe that club members would get to purchase as many extras of those club bottles as supply would allow.... not some 1 bottle limit so they could let the general public buy the beer at a 1 case per person limit.

It did not. From the CCB site -
Q: Does the $120 only buy me a membership, meaning I'd then have to pay for the 5 bottles?
A: No, $120 not only buys you a membership, but it also guarantees you 5 bottles of beer. Look at this way: you're pre-paying $120 for 5 bottles of beer, a t-shirt and 10% off of all purchases in the tasting room. However, there will be additional beers released that club members will have first access to purchase. These special beers will not be guaranteed as a part of the $120, but club members will be the first people allowed to purchase them.

Yup. Allowed to purchase *1* before everyone else has a chance to get a case.

Awful.
