Making 2 1/2 gal batches of simple cider with what I had. I was reading another post this morning that only used cider and yeast. So I got a gal of cider from work which had no preservatives from a local farmer. Then added nutmeg and cinnamon to one and some dried ginger to the other. All I had for yeast was some bread yeast which I have from my JAOM recipe.
So I am going to see how they turn out. OG was 1.042 and I added spices after without taking another reading.
I also did not fill them to the top just yet and will leave them for a couple days before topping up with the rest of the cider.
