I have a friend who wants to brew a batch of cider.
I was just wondering if I can use my beer fermenter to ferment the cider or will that ruin my beer fermenter from ever holding beer safely again?
If I make a batch of cider, will all my future brews adopt a favor or sent of Apple?

Yes, you can use your beer equipment to ferment cider.
No, cider will not ruin your beer equipment.
No, your future brew won't taste like apple, though plastic bucket fermenters will often retain the apple smell for a while, usually until you brew something else, like a beer.
I use the same equipment for beer, cider, wine & mead; never had an issue with any crossover flavors. Practice good sanitation & you should be just fine.
Regards, GF.
