Wait in line for 13 hours for a chance at $30 a bottle or wait in line 0 minutes for a chance at $50 or hell even $100 a bottle. I prefer the latter if I wanted bottles.

wait in line... spend lots o cash... or spend some cash drink there enjoy and repeat as necessary...

So if someone does line cut and then get a different numbered second wrist band then everyone after that person would not have matching wrist bands and so no-one would get bottles? It is tempting to just go and get in line in at some random point and see what chaos ensues.

I'm inferring that he's only giving wristbands to people with wristbands from the first wave, and only matching wrist band numbers.

This seems counter-productive to me, can't imagine more than 170ish people lining up with everyone else turning around as soon as they realize they'll be shut-out. Ivan won't get the crazy line he's had in the past.

It's going to be an interesting Saturday for sure...

I know it's not the right forum, but if anyone wants to trade me a 2014 CFH for a 2013 CFH, let me know. I don't think I'm going to try to get a bottle from BPT and it would be nice for me to keep the vertical going.

Update on online sales:

"Churchill's Finest Hour Online sales... I really didn't want to do this, so it's going to cost you! I feel the people who wait in line deserve it, but for those of you that can't make it that day, I'm giving you a shot. I am selling 100 bottles at $50 and after that 100 bottles at $100. It's a two bottle limit per person. All proceeds over my normal bottle price are going to the San Diego Humane Society. Also, I'm releasing the bottles at 8am on March 1st on Brown Paper Tickets. The link will be cfh.brownpapertickets.com . I'm trying to prevent double dipping by releasing them while people are waiting in line and I'm passing out wristbands. I'm sorry if you think this is unfair, but I'm happy to help shelter animals in the process. You can always take your shot at waiting in line. People can have trustees pick up the bottles eventually, etc.(online sales only)."
Also Ivan's update on the double wristband system....clearly less confusing (sarcasm)

For you diehards who are still going to camp out the night before, and the rest of you that want to show up at 5am or earlier(I'm guessing earlier) to get a shot at some Churchill's Finest Hour bottles or some of the rarest tap offerings, let me explain the wristband system again. Only one person actually responded to me in regards to the system being confusing, but I'll explain in more detail anyway. I have two sets of wristbands. We will have a security guard out overnight. You will get a sequentially numbered wrist band when you get in line. If you are going to leave, don't bother getting a wristband. This does not save or guarantee your place in line!! It just helps out people who get cut in front of. IT IS UP TO YOU, THE PEOPLE, TO HELP POLICE LINE CUTTING. At approximately 8 am, I will pass out a second wristband to the first 150(down from 200 because of online sales..see below) people with the right sequential wrist band. If you show up at 3 am and get wristband number 60, your buddies show up and cut at 7am, they'll have numbers in the 100s. They shouldn't be up in the line anyway, but they will not get bottles even though they are up front in line. In that same vein, if you have wristband number 1 and decide to go home, you go to the back of the line when you come back and you will not get the right to buy bottles. Bottles are $30 a piece .. cash only please.

Hoping for reports of maximum rustle. Also, I'm so looking forward to the haggling that's going to occur on other trade forums over the dollar value of CFH14 based on how it was bought. Somehow, I suspect Facebook and BA are going to have a lot of "$50 bottles" that were purchased on-site...

Maybe it will at least provide a brief respite to the awful Bruery trade value thread.

how long should the glasses last? I would like one but won't be there until Sunday.
It's my understanding (not confirmed) that a person can buy as many as they want. Rules might change day of the event though. That being said hopefully I/we/attendees can score enough glasses to distribute through the TB users for those who want them.

I won't be there till the evening... So... If anyone snags an "extra" glass I would be happy to share/trade some good beers for one ;)

BUT, maybe there is a chance I will get some in the evening. And I am happy to share if I do...

Will save you one if it looks like they are going to sell out quickly. My girlfriend is helping sell merchandise so she'll know the tempo of things being bought.
Also will save because:
1. I need to finally meet you
2. Cleavage

Man, this weather forecast is NOT improving at all. I'm starting to have my own doubts about going.

But no, there must be a reporter to weather this storm (pun intended) and report the news....

I cannot imagine standing in line for 10+ hours in the rain to get these bottles. The main thing I enjoy is the event. Last thing I would want is to finally get inside but only after being soaking wet, cold, and tired, and not enjoy the event.

Will try to get the real story tonight at CH. As in, I'll ask the people who may actually know... I'll also see if they have a rain plan... oh wait, I just used the word "plan." Nevermind.

So, here goes nothing and I feel like being an antagonist today...

Originally there were 400 bottles being sold on-site only for $30/each = $12,000

Now there are 300 bottles sold on-site for $30/each ($9,000) plus 100 bottles online at $50/each online ($5,000) and 100 bottles online at $100/each ($10,000) = $24,000

So what's the over/under that we actually see the owner write/post/publicize a check for $12,000 to the San Diego Humane Society? As he stated "All proceeds over my normal bottle price are going to the San Diego Humane Society"

Just my thoughts....

Since he will be selling 500 bottles to go instead of the 400, the "normal bottle price" will yield 500 x $30 = $15,000, so the check should be for $9,000.

144 snifters available. $5 each. Not linked to bottle sales in any way. Sold as merch, just like shirts, hats, etc. This was the latest info as of Tuesday evening when I was at the pub.

thanks for the info. If there is some left on Sunday I will grab one, otherwise I will find a way to survive. See you Sunday?

I just hope nobody brings a cake along to eat while in line.

I wanna go to the Sunday thingie. **** **** ****. I did the network over at the new SMHS. Our construction trailer is gone now though. Would have been a sweet bottleshare pad! lol
