Chugger pump w/ recirculation coil

Hello guys, I got a chugger pump for a recirculation coil to control wort temperature.

I used my old 50 feet, 3/8-in copper coil and did not work. Too much resistance to flow.

I got my oldest 25 feet 1/2-in copper coil and worked. It controlled the water temperature ±1F.

My situation is that, I wanna get a stainless steel recirculation coil, yet only one available is 3/8-in and aint gonna work. I need either to:

1- Find a way to make it work the 3/8-in coil or
2- Custom make a 1/2-in ss coil.

Any thoughts?

IMO the best way to go, best price and top quality product, I'm very happy with my HERMS coil. Just make sure you read ALL the instructions before you buy.
