Alright I have a chest freezer that is 70in long and 30 wide that is out in my wife's class room. I'm wanting to move it inside my newly made man cave room to use as my new beer cellar. but there are some tight corners to get it in that room so the only way to get it in there is to stand it up on its end. Just wanna. Make sure this won't kill the freezer or anything.. this is probably a 20 year old freezer. The distance we are moving it is only about 60 feet. I searched google with no luck. Hopefully someone can help me!

should be fine...you might want to let is sit overnight before plugging in to set oil and refrigerator settle/adjust

Ok, this is about my dorm fridge from 20 years ago, not a freezer, but the instructions said that after tipping it, to let it sit for 24 hours for the freeon and oil in the compressor to seperate....

So I'd say move it, then let it sit for atleast 24 hours, or more if you are really parrinod about it, and plug it in... The other alternative of putting holes in walls is really not worth it...

Will I need to do any defrosting or will it be fine after sitting only 24hrs..? BTW im also installing a temperature regulator to make the freezer only be at 55 degrees.

Set at 55 deg. it will become self defrosting.

I'd look out for condensation that has formed within the insulation layer or just outside the inner lining though. This might drip out for a while. An old upright freezer that I have drips out of the door for a while when I go to defrost it.
