I'm only on my second batch, but here's a quick recap:
1) Live in south TX, 1br apt. Keeping the ambient temp low
2) Batch #1 fermented WAY too high (78f ambient).
3) Swamp cooler for batch #2, good control, pain in the..
I've purchased the stc-1000, but need to find an adequate chest freezer that'll fit in a space 4'Wx2.5'D. Ideally I'd like to have room for a 6.5gal primary and a 5gal glass secondary. Does anyone have any recommendations on minimum Cubic Ft. and the best model. I find the compressor hump changes btwn models, making it difficult to go on raw measurements along. Thanks!
