Just wanted to stop by and say "hi". My wife bought me a Northern Brewer kit for Father's Day and I dove right into the hobby. I have a 5-gallon brown ale extract kit that has been conditioning in the bottles for a week and a 5-gallon saison extract kit that has been in my primary for a week.

This looks like a friendly and informative group. I'm looking forward to participating and learning about the hobby. Thanks!

Welcome to the board! If that brown ale is the Caribou Slobber I am sure you will like it. I purchased a kit from them and that was my first beer ever too. Just so you know it ages really well. I brewed it on 01/01 and had the last bottle (the best one) in June. It was great and a bummer. lol

Welcome to the insanity. Your closest local home brew supply store is BX Beer Depot. Stop in and have a look. Best of luck and brew on! :mug:

Good luck with your beer, Dave. Sunny florida is very wet this week. Grass is going gangbusters though.

Church. I am cutting my damn grass every 10 days. If it grows any faster I am going to have to sell my brew gear and buy a riding mower.

I am in Boynton too. I am a total rookie but will help any way I can. I have been to BX. They are great and very helpful. You should go to one of their competitions. You can meet tons of brewers and taste lots of great home brew.

Thanks all for the kind words of welcome! I really do appreciate it!

It is the Caribou Slobber. I've read nice things about it and am looking forward to cracking one open. If it turns out good, I'm hoping I can exercise some restraint and keep some around for a few months!

Been to Bx a few times already. Even took their Beginner's Home Brew class before my first brew day. The folks I've met there were very nice and helpful and they seem to have a pretty nice stock of supplies for such a small space.

Thanks for the tip. I think I remember they told me that they're taking the summer off from competitions and are planning on starting up again in the fall. I'll definitely plan on getting out for some then. Hope to see you around. Thanks!
