I posted this in Fermentation and yeast and now I realize that might have been the wrong area, so will post here as well.

I am attempting to make a fermentation chamber out of a mini fridge I have. I am NOT handy especially when it comes to wiring and and do not want to fool with any of that. I just want the simpliest, cheapest on/off temp control device you know of, and by that I mean plug and play, no wiring required.

I found this http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/321211828137?lpid=82 but this is $45 and i've heard you can get them for about $20 but I can't seem to find them. Also, I would be willing to pay a bit more if I could find one locally but I have no idea who would carry them. Lowe's?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, I've found this, but what I need to know is, is this really just plug and play. It seems to indicate so, I would like to know for sure. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00862G3TQ/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

Also, I read that it only displays Celsius, is that true? If so, its nothing other than a minor inconvenience. I know the formula F = 9/5C + 32. I would just like to be fully informed before I buy.

Thanks!

The $20 ones require a little wiring, but very simple wiring.

Here is the $20 temp controller. http://www.ebay.com/itm/All-Purpose...806?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item565d354d8e

This is what i used to build the two temp controllers I have.

I didn't build a box just bought an extension cord cut it in half and wired it up. Works great. Takes less tan 15min.

Ok thanks, You posted as I was typing my 2nd question and I see that it has already been answered. I will continue looking. There is no such thing as simple wiring to me and I have no confidence in my abilities to pull off even the simplest job. I have destroyed everything I have ever tried to work on myself.

My question now would be is there a plug and play that is less than $45? if not, that's fine i was just wondering if anybody knew of one.

My keezer has a very simple "plug in" thermostat I bought from a hardware store. It is designed so that you plug a heater or A/C unit into it and set the temperature you want. I have an extension cord from the wall which hangs in my keezer, the thermostat plugs into the cord, and then the power cord from the keezer plugs into the thermostat. Couldn't be easier.

I don't have this one, but it seems like this is very similar: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000E7NYY8/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20
